Medical Savings Accounts, Inc. has created the WellCard™ line of health access products to serve the uninsured and underinsured. The WellCard™ Medical Savings Program is a program of choice, access, savings, and responsibility. It is not health insurance! This program is first and foremost a medical benefits discount program that helps people with insufficient or no insurance. It will also provide savings on healthcare expenses that are not normally covered by insurance. The program provides choice of doctors and other medical providers without the red tape of having a third party looking over your shoulder to decide what services you can receive. WellCard™ strives to be the advocate for the patient, providing them with the information they need to make informed and responsible decisions about their healthcare. We believe that an informed health care consumer is someone who has the ability to research and evaluate both the quality and the cost of the health services and products they need. Our objective is to assist our members by providing access to savings at group negotiated (PPO) rates for health care providers and health care products such as prescription drugs. We provide analytical tools such as our prescription evaluation program that evaluates equally beneficial, but less expensive drugs. By supplying links to sites such as the American Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American Arthritis Association, etc. we encourage patients to conduct their own research so that they may make informed decisions.
